Over the Summer term, the information available on this
website will be gradually moved over to Glow. The
CPD Glow Group is already up and running, and contains
all of the links and information currently found on this
website, plus a great deal more.
Now that all Aberdeen City Schools have access to Glow,
the CPD Glow Group will become the main channel of
communication for CPD related information, and this website
will be closed down completely from August 2009.

School Closure Days: New
Dates Announced
The
Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning has
provided for an additional school closure day, to assist
with the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence, to
take place this school session and also for the next two
school sessions.
The additional closure day for the current school session
has been set as Friday 5th June 2009. This will be an
authority-led day and more guidance on how the day should be
used will follow in due course.
The dates for all six closure days for next school session
have also been agreed, and they are as follows:
Monday 17th August 2009 (school-led day) Monday 16th November 2009 (authority-led day) Monday 30th November 2009 (school-led day) Tuesday 16th February 2010 (authority-led day) Wednesday 17th February 2010 (school-led day) Tuesday 4th May 2010 (authority-led day)

Aberdeen City's Policy for PR&D and CPD is currently
under review, and a draft updated policy has been produced.
In Circular PP/ASC/002/09, dated 17th February 2009,
establishments and staff have been asked to comment on the
proposed update to the policy.
