The Reading Bus is a bold and innovative project in the City of Aberdeen, North East Scotland. A single decker bus has been converted into a high profile, mobile learning resource that will work with cross- agency partners. The aim of the project is to raise achievement in literacy, particularly in areas of high social deprivation, by working with families as a learning unit.

The Reading Bus was launched on the 31st August 2006 at a glittering ceremony involving over 1,000 guests.

The Reading Bus will now begin its programme of working with schools in the St Machar Community as well as visiting community centres, Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, Tesco Extra Store in Danestone and local libraries and parks.
