Who are we looking for to become
trainers?
Classroom practitioners who are committed to and enthusiastic about
the use and development of web-based resources. They will be
expected to have a reasonable level of ICT skills but the main
qualities would be to be good communicators, effective organisers
and able to deliver and support professional development
opportunities for other staff. It is therefore important that
they have credibility as trainers within the school.
What training do I get?
There will be a two day training session at
Stirling management centre in Spring 2007 and a further day in
Autumn 2007. Online training modules, support from the national team
and support from the local authority will be available.
What resources will be provided?
While you are a mentor you will have the use
of a laptop and webcam to support the delivery of training. You will
also receive training materials from the national SSDN team.
Where will I deliver training?
Within an establishment in your ASG if there
are adequate training facilities or at Summerhill Centre. (Some
mentors may be required to deliver training to other ASGs.)
When will I deliver the training?
The first round of training sessions should
begin in the Autumn term 2007. Individual schools will decide
on the best times to deliver the training within the overall
timescale. Some may decide to identify Twilight sessions while
others may use INSET days.
Who will attend the training?
You will train SSDN School mentors from your
ASG who will then cascade training to colleagues in their own
schools.
What cover will be provided?
All your cover time for attending and
delivering courses will be provided. Travelling expenses will
also be paid.
