During 2006-2007, the same class have put their
knowledge to good use by opening the "Bon Appetit Cafe" in class to
link with their project on France.
Pupils applied for jobs as accountants, waiters and greeters.
The whole class was involved in marketing using posters and visiting
classes, and the cafe ended up expanding outside of the classroom
and into the playground. It was well attended by pupils, staff
and parents.
Pupils served brioche and crepes wearing French clothes with
French music playing. Their previous knowledge of business
gained in P5 enabled them to put together a sound business plan
which has resulted in a healthy profit.
They plan to put the profit towards a trip later in the school
year.
