our enterprise projects
We are very involved in enterprise in our school and some of the projects like 'Out of Africa' which is on display in Aberdeen University and a book on the Internet as well as some beautiful books which have been published.

Scottish winner of Active Kids Get Cooking
Our hottest item is that we have won the Scottish entry for the Active Kids Get Cooking competition which is run by Sainsbury's and judged by British Nutrition Foundation.

The P4 class were involved in the cooking etc but two P4 children and Angela Robertson, their teacher, travelled to London on Wednesday 25 June 2008 to collect their prize and certificate  which was presented to them by Jamie Oliver.

Our recipes were then being cooked by chefs on the premises which is Holburn House,  as are the winning recipes from Northern Ireland, Wales and England and an overall winner was announced on the day.

It  is a great achievement and even though so many enterprising events at the school are of great interest, this one is great.

The children had to compile a two course meal from local produce.  Our children chose Isle of Skye Salmon on a bed of curry infused leeks served with carrot batons and bubble and squeak patties.

Pudding was sponge with vanilla custard and drizzled with summer berries compote.  It was delicious.

Mrs. Maureen Farquhar from Sainsbury's came into the school to help the children in response to letters they had written inviting innovative ideas towards their healthy eating projects.

Teacher Angela Robertson said "I am very proud of the children and it is a great achievement."
