Global Citizen Programme Education Pack
The J8 Global Citizen Programme education pack for secondary schools
in Scotland was launched by the Deputy Minister for Education and
Young People on 17 November 2004. The pack aims to boost pupils'
understanding of Scotland’s role and responsibilities within the
international community.
The J8 programme is
the first global citizenship initiative of its kind to be launched
in secondary schools across the United Kingdom.
As well as the pack,
schools are being invited to enter the J8 summit competition with
plans being drawn up to hold a summit in Scotland for competition
winners from across the UK just prior to the real G8 summit which
takes place in Gleneagles in July 2005.
