respectme |
respectme,
Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service was launched in March 2007. respectme is a
Scottish Executive funded service managed by
SAMH (Scottish
Association for Mental Health), in partnership with
LGBT Youth Scotland.
Their work is driven by a focus on children's rights: it's the right of
every child and young person not to be bullied, and they want bullying to be
seen as a rights issue, not as a normal part of growing up.
respectme is not a helpline; they provide practical advice and
guidance on developing and reviewing anti-bullying policies and initiatives
and identifying the best ways of putting them into practice, and they can
put you in touch with other organisations who have trained counsellors you
can discuss any worries withtel 0844

Inform
Interactive Ltd has recently launched an interactive CD for primary schools: Lets
Stop Bullying! The CD contains information from the Anti-Bullying Network
publication - presented using text, voiceover, photographs and video clips - and a number
of activities which help to reinforce the anti-bullying message. After completing a
short quiz, a certificate can be printed which the child can sign. Each school
can add their own information to the programme, creating an individual presentation on the
schools anti-bullying initiatives. Pupils can become involved in the
production of this section of the programme, by taking digital photographs in the
playground or classroom, scanning photographs or drawings, recording video-clips and
adding a voiceover to each page of the presentation. For more information, please visit the website or phone 01324 889 113. |
