ANTI-BULLYING MEASURES IN SCHOOLS

In response to correspondence from the Scottish Office, Aberdeen City Council Education Committee of 2 September 1997 adopted a report on Bullying in Schools.

The outcomes were that

  • schools were asked to submit a copy of their current anti-bullying policy by 10 October 1997
  • The Educational Psychology Service produced a short survey to be used on a 3 year rolling programme
  • There was also consultation with Grampian Police to develop a policy for assistance in incidents of bullying which arises out of school time.
