AGAINST DRUGS
TRAINING INITIATIVE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Scotland Against Drugs, through their training initiative for primary schools, are
making available finance for a two day training event on drugs education for a head
teacher and a class teacher in every primary school in Scotland.It will be constructed in such a way as to allow each Education
Authority to customize it so that it is appropriate to local circumstances, and to
complement its existing policies and curriculum guidelines.
Aberdeen City is involved in this initiative during 2000-2001
and is offering six courses between October 2000 and March 2001.
Scotland Against Drugs is in the process of raising
£1 million from the private sector to finance this training. The cover costs
for Aberdeen courses are being funded jointly by Scotlans Against Drugs (75%), Health
promotions (12.5%) and Aberdeen CIty Council (12.5%). |
