Welcome and apologies

   
  0920 Pupils from other countries Anne Douglas from the EAL Service will help us to understand some of the difficulties pupils from other countries find when they come to Aberdeen, the issues these raise and also some details of the Polish education system from which many youngsters come.  
  1000 The National Personal Support in Schools implementation project John MacBean (Hazlehead Academy) and Terry Ashton will update the network on this project which has been run from Aberdeen on behalf of the Scottish Government.  The project finishes at the end of this term.  
  1015 BREAK    
  1035 NHS Grampian Administration development scheme Margaret Gray, Learning & Development Manager, NHS Grampian will give us some information about this scheme which is targeted at school leavers who wish a career in administration.  
  1100 Young Runaways' Service Melanie Stone, Acting Team Leader, Barnardo's will talk to us about the Young Runaways' Service (a partnership between Barnardo's and Grampian Police  She will tell us about what they do, how to refer, and about a magazine they are publishing that will hopefully be distributed to all S3 pupils next session.  
  1125 Building the Curriculum 3 and its implications for Guidance/personal support A look at the document (launched 10 June).  You can download it from here >>  
    draft experiences and outcomes for Health and Wellbeing Discussion about what we think of them, and whether we should put in a response as a group.  (If you get the chance to familiarize yourself with them before hand that would be great!).  You can download the document from here >>  
  1200 The future of the Aberdeen Guidance Network In the light of cutbacks in the authority, there will be no cover provided for Network meetings in the future, although there will still be a total of four and a half days for development work and for coordination of the network if required.  We need to discuss how this will affect meetings of the Aberdeen Guidance Network.
