Achievers International

Achievers International is a Scottish Charity, which operates a unique entrepreneurial import/export programme’.   The programme links school and college students to similar foreign partner groups. Students then form companies and work with their partner group to trade locally sourced products. All the programme training materials are on-line, in the password protected Members Club section of our web site.  Now in it’s sixth year, Achievers International has member schools and colleges in 21 countries.  There are currently over 4,600 students aged between 7 and 25 years old, taking part in the programme.   For further details contact Achievers International, 2 Wellington Square, Ayr   KA7 1EN.

Excellence in Education Through Business Links This initiative comes under the Scottish Executive's Education for Work and Enterprise Agenda and has the full endorsement of HMI, ADES and the Scottish CBI. This programme aims to offer schools staff the opportunity to develop a greater awareness and understanding of the world of work.  The programme also facilitates reciprocal placements for business people into schools.
Schools Enterprise Programme The SEP is a project designed to enable schools and teachers to deliver the entitlement to enterprise education within the 5-14 curriculum.  The current phase of the programme began in August 2001 and lasts for three years. The Scottish Executive and the private sector, through a specially established charitable company SES Ltd, have each provided £2.5m to enable this phase of the programme to be implemented.  The project aims to develop enterprising skills and attitudes to help shift individuals and society away from a dependency culture towards a 'can do' culture.
