THEME ‘WORLD CUP GERMANY 2006’
As in past years, there will be a competition with prize giving
to celebrate Europe Day on 9th May 2006. The aim of the day is
to raise awareness and develop our European links.
The theme of this year’s competition is ‘World Cup Germany
2006’. The competition is open to all primary 6/7 and secondary
1/2 pupils in Aberdeen schools. School teams will consist of up
to 5 pupils and schools can enter as many teams as they wish.
The competition will be to find the answers to the questions
attached to this letter and present the answers on a poster.
Pupils can use all available sources to find the answers and
supplementary information. The criteria used for judging will be
correct answers, innovative design and incorporation of
supplementary information such as articles, photographs,
diagrams etc.
A panel of people involved in international activities will
judge the posters and the prize giving will take place in the
conference room in Summerhill from 4 to 6pm on the 9th. May. The
winning team will receive a digital camera for the school and
the individual pupils from the winning team will receive a gift
voucher for ICT equipment. The prizes are donated by RM, our ICT
provider. For catering numbers, it is requested that schools
intimate their intention to attend along with the number of
teams by Friday 28th April.
Entry posters must be handed in to Summerhill reception by
Friday 5th May.

Who won that year? Spain is also a popular holiday
destination. Write a sentence and show pictures to show why
it is good to go on holiday to Spain.
