The Children & Young People's Services Awards programme in 2008 culminated in a grand awards ceremony, held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, on Thursday 12th June 2008.

Over 300 adults and young people attended the event, at which 48 groups and individuals were presented with certificates and shields to recognise and celebrate a wide range of successes and achievements.

During the event the audience was treated to some top class entertainment from Music4U, The Culter Choristers and Twisted Felony.

Many of the nominees provided wall displays at the ceremony, to provide more information about the achievements for which they had been nominated.

The event was recorded by pupils from Causewayend Primary School, working with the Reading Bus Team, for a special radio programme which was broadcast shortly afterwards on SHMU FM.

High resolution photographs of each of the award winners proudly holding their certificates and trophies are available, and copies of these have been sent to all winners' establishments, to be forwarded on to the individuals concerned.

The 2009 Awards Programme is due to be launched in January, when nominations will be invited for anyone involved with Aberdeen's services to children and young people, in order to recognise and celebrate their achievements in a wide range of categories. Winners will be presented with their prizes at an awards ceremony to be held in June 2009.

Further details and nomination forms will be available from this website in January.
